Every year the NorCal Buffs Alumni Association awards a scholarship of at least $1,500 to a current CU student who is from the greater Bay Area. The funding for this scholarship is drawn from the events we host throughout the year including guest bartending, trips to football games and our annual Poker Run.
For more information about this scholarship or others please visit the University of Colorado Scholarship Page.
2015: Alaina Campbell, class of 2018
Hometown: Clayton, California
Extracurricular: I play on the University of Colorado Boulder Club Lacrosse team, where I have made tons of friends and had the opportunity to play for an amazing team who placed 6th at the 2015 Nationals. I created a series of fundraising videos for the team that helped raised funds to travel. I also work two jobs during the school year, one of which is coaching a youth lacrosse program for the Boulder area. I enjoy attending the Boulder International Film series in my free time, as well as create my own films when inspiration hits!
Favorite Thing About CU: I feel very grateful to attend CU Boulder and live amongst same minded people who enjoy adventuring and
being outdoors. Boulder is a beautiful place to live and I am very thankful to CU for giving me a great education and a giving me the tools I need to be successful in the future.
What are you looking forward to this fall: This fall I have a full schedule of classes, work and practice, but I am very excited to dive in! I am most excited to be taking new film classes and hopefully applying to the B.F.A program in the Spring.
To the Alums: I am very thankful for being chosen to receive this scholarship from the NorCal Buffs! Being so far from home can be hard at times but I am very thankful for the NorCal presence at CU. Thank you again for helping me as I work to put myself through college. Go Buffs!
